Minutes

  • MLMS Mission
    • Went over the school mission statement.
  • Coucil Elections
    • A motion was put forth for Melissa Dahle as Chair and Sheli Field as vice chair for Community Council SY 23-24. Council voted in favor of these positions.
  • Additional Budget Allocation update
    • Current professional development schedule is emplace. The professional development is used to focus on English Language Learning Strategies.
    • Teachers have asked for support with PBIS and behavior strategies. The guiding coalition has asked for training for Love and Logic. Some of the more seasoned teachers liked the previous training for Love and Logic.
    • Principal Holmgren suggested bringing in some Psychologists from USU. Guiding coalition still prefers Love and Logic training.
    • We have money for a BCBA Psychologist for students, teachers and staff. It has been a problem finding someone to take that spot.
    • A Council member talked about how love and logic could possibly be a waste of money with the turnover of teachers and having to re-train every year.
    • A Council member suggested using USU psychologists and having them help teach ideas from Love and Logic.
    • Principal Holmgren brought up the idea of having Webinar sessions or an Academy to train teachers. To go off how Logan High School does it, only 16 teachers would be able to participate in the Academy.
    • A council member brought up that it sounds like the teachers are familiar with Love and Logic and like having a common language. There may be a way to come up with a common language that is specific for our school.
  • End of Meeting
