Agenda

  • School improvement plan
    • This year, money was spent on:
      •  1.5 ESL coaching, teaching, and math.
      • Parent liaison
  • Current Goals
    • 83% of students will master learning
    • Scores in math will have improved by 5% in spring
    • Scores in ELA will have improved by 5% in spring
    • Teachers are ensuring mastery through CFAs etc.

  • IXL reading scores from January
    • Over 400 are far below grade level
    • 150 are not pinpointed (weren’t here to take the test)
    • About 150 are on grade level.
    • About 230 are above grade level.
    • Acadience isn’t much of an option here as all teachers would need to be trained to give that test. It would also cost time and money.
  • Comparing the bell curve
    • Overall we’re at the 45th percentile so we’re a little below average.
    • Overall our scores put us between 40th and 51st percentile.
    • Utah and MLMS are pretty average overall.
  • IXL math scores from January
    • 165 incomplete
    • 187 Above grade level
    • Overall, IXL fits with our rise scores and gives us more accurate data.
    • For MLMS we have targeted demographics that are scoring less than others (ELLs, students with disabilities, etc.)

  • MLMS School Improvement Plan 24-25
    • We are currently on track for goal #1
    • On track and currently at 21.4%
    • On track and currently at 58.6%
  • Proposals for upcoming school goals;
    • Goals should be items that improve student learning in areas of most need.
    • Goals should be able to affect the learning of all students and instruction of teachers
    • Goals need to be directly tied to any expenses paid for from the trust lands funds.
  • Proposal form leadership team:
    • Goal #1: Utah RISE assessments will be within 20% of the classroom assessments given. For non-rise areas at least 85% of students will demonstrate DOK level 3 or higher on summative classroom assessments.
    • Goal #2: 80% of our students will make a year’s worth of growth on the school wide math inventory during the 25-26 school year.
    • Goal #3: 80% of our students will make a year’s worth of growth on the school wide reading inventory during the 25-26 school year.
  • Proposals for upcoming school funding:
    • 1.5 additional FTE = $160,000 (ELA 1 or 1.5 and Math .5)
    • IXL per content area = $10,000 (possibly add science or pay)
    • Parent liaison = $24,000
