  • Highlights: 
    • Get Logan High to come- Basketball team and coach came to meet with the 8th graders. We have great connections. 
  • School Mission:
    •  It is the mission of the Mount Logan Middle school to ensure all students leave our school ready to create a positive future for themselves and their community.
  • Budget Update- $219,692.33 Available $222,001 Planned, Carry Over $10,000
    • Amendment: Finding from a grant for the social worker so we have $26,000 dollars and amend the money to go to PLC time for teachers. Pays for sub coverage. 
      • During PLC time
        • Essential Standards Review
        • Increased CFA Rigor
        • Higher-Order Thinking Instruction
        • CFA Response Plan- Reteach, reassessment and advanced tasks
        • Unit Alignment and Rigor Audit.

  • Digital Citizenship Review
    • Why we review digital citizenship
      • State Legislation (H.B. 213) requires annual discussion
      • Ensure safe, healthy, responsible technology use
      • Provides transparency about filtering, data privacy, and instructional practices. 
    • Means- appropriate, responsible, and health behavior related to technology use. 
      • Digital literacy
      • Only safety
      • Privacy and security
      • Respectful communication
      • Ethical online behavior
    • SOPHOS, GoGaurdian (teachers can use for students in class), Age appropriate filtering, iBoss (internet filter), JAMF/ZenWorks (district)
    • Filtering is blocking harmful inappropriate content, applying restrictions, managing apps,  guarantee is not 100% protection, and does not replace supervision or conversation at home. 
    • Learn digital literacy in the following classes:
      • 6th grade- Study Skills- Ms. Turley
      • 7th grade- CCA Ms. Killpack- Required
      • 8th Grade- Digital Literacy- Ms. Kendall- Required
    • Alerts at MLMS- Total, explicit, profanity, tech misuse, other
      • August- 467, 344, 321, 33, 57
      • September- 1364, 513, 260, 95, 671
      • October- 2196, 769, 384, 939, 435
      • November- 1634, 667, 382, 245, 651
      • December- 332, 111, 48, 48, 152
    • When flag it will send an email to admin and tech safety which will then go to the resource officer
    • Only about 6% are frequent offenders
      • Most problems are on the cell phones that we don't control
    • Other category is self harm/suicidal
      • 76 notification- represents 6.62% at MLMS
      • Comes through GoGuardian Beacon Alert
      • The school will then
        • Notify Parents
        • Provide Supportive Measures
        • Perform a Risk Assessment- done by councilors 
        • Report on Results of Assessment to Parents
        • Spencer Holmgren will look into how many total students we do have here at MLMS.
  • Public Input
    • Could we get Logan high clubs to come in and get MLMS students interested. 
    • Are parents pretty good when the school calls regarding self harm- and do they have the resources? 
      • Yes, Kate helps with it when it comes to getting the resources and where to go. 
    • Cell phones- How are they doing this year?
      • The system is the same. 3 strikes your out. The phone goes to the offices on the 3rd and parents are contracted. We have the backing now from the state which helps when parents are upset. 
    • How you find out about cell phone use and the self harm issues/ bullying/ harassment/ ect. 
      • Students will report it. We will direct it to Officer Olson when needed.

    • We will get Kate Cobb to come in
    • School Improvement plan
